    DESCRIPTION

    Scientific Name: Caridina Babaulti
    Common Name: Zebra Babaulti
Fully Grown Size: 1.6 inches (4cm)

Zebra Babaultis originate from India and certain parts of Asia. These oddballs are rarely offered in the US market making them quite unique. These shrimps can be kept with Caridinas and Neocaridinas without the risk of crossbreeding. These shrimps may look faded in their juvie stage of life but once they are adults, their color and pattern will really stand out.

These are tank-bred and can be easily breed with minimum effort needed.

These are popular among the shrimp hobby and are great for people getting into the hobby. A general rule of thumb of keeping shrimps is 10 shrimps per gallon. Zebra Babaultis are non-aggressive and spend most of their time eating algae and biofilm off plants, glass, and substrate. They make excellent oddballs for an aquascape tank.

Zebra Babaultis are easy to care for as they require remineralized RO water or tap. If you are using tap, keep in mind to check for any harmful metals or chemicals in the water as all tap water is different and some aren't safe to use. When using fertilizer, make sure it does not contain copper as it is harmful to the shrimp’s health.

The shrimps you will receive will be juvies to sub adults which translate to 1.2cm to 2.3cm.

    Dead on Arrival Policy

    We guarantee live arrivals 100%.

Although it's rare that shrimps will arrive DOA, it does occur due to the process of shipping and the amount of stress it puts on the shrimps so we always recommend overnight shipping. In an event of an DOA, a refund or reshipment will be issued for only the DOA (not including the shipping cost).

    To Claim DOA:

    1. You must send a picture of the DOA in an unopened bag with 2 hours of delivery to hello@billyboiaquatics.com.
    2. Send an additional picture of the DOA outside of the bag, clear enough to count if more than one.

    Zebra Babaultis

They've all arrived alive and healthy. Still alive three weeks later and have been fully comfortable coming out into the open now. These guys are not readily available at a lot of places, so I was excited to find them here. They add a new dynamic to the Snowball shrimp tank and they're all happily foraging together. Am very happy to have these guys. They're really cool

Shrimp arrived quickly and in perfect health. Been a couple weeks and they are all doing A OK. Colouration/stripes are fantastic. A few of them also have orange eyes which was a fun surprise.

Great company, Fast shipping, 100% survival rate

I emailed Billy, he held the shipment until the fallowing Monday. His over night shipping was truly over night and I live in a rural area. Shrimp all alive and well. 2 weeks later 12 of the 10 shrimp (2 extras included in shipment) are all alive. Beautiful shrimp exactly what I ordered.

Love these guys so much I bought more

tl;dr: Super hardy shrimp with variable appearance. 10/10, recommend them to anyone interested in keeping inverts.

I've had issues keeping neocaridinas alive regardless of where I buy them, but the babaultis are thriving in my tank. In fact, I like them so much I ended up buying more of the zebras as well as some of the greens! The zebras from my first order are now mature, and I even have a big, berried female so I'm looking forward to babies soon <3

The zebras shipped as small juveniles; most have orange eyes but a few have normal, so expect to get a mix. When they're young mine have been clear with black stripes, but as they grow I've seen them develop colors from blue to rusty red to one who's got bright red stripes. It's quite fascinating to see how different they all look. They also appear to turn more rusty/orange (especially along the back) when they're getting ready to mate.

I will say that these guys don't seem to ship as well as neos or amanos; I've received 2 DOA in each order of 10 (in both cases extras were included so I still ended up with 10) versus zero DOA in multiple shipments of neos and amanos. However, if they make it through the shipping and the acclimation process, they are super hardy. I had a parasite infestation that wiped out a bunch of my neos before I figured out what was going on (in my defense, I still don't know what kind of parasite it was because it didn't resemble any of the common ones I could find online) but I didn't lose a single babaulti during that time.

All in all these are super hardy, unique looking little shrimp that can thrive in a variety of tanks.
