    DESCRIPTION

    Scientific Name: Caridina gracilirostris
    Common Name: Red Nose Shrimp, Pinocchio Shrimp, Pinokio Shrimp, Rudolph Shrimp, Rhino Shrimp
    Fully Grown Size: 1-1.5 inches

    Red Nose Shrimps are very rare to come by. Some say these shrimps are better algae eater than Amanos and can eat some variety of algae Amanos don't touch. Red Nose Shrimps displays a nice yellow/red stripe though its body and nose making them unique.

    Just like Amanos, Red Nose Shrimps are excellent climbers and jumpers so a lid or lower water level is recommended.

    This shrimp is easy to care for as they require remineralized RO water or tap. If you are using tap, keep in mind to check for any harmful metals or chemicals in the water as all tap water is different and some aren't safe to shrimps.

    The shrimps you will receive will be sub adults which translate to .80 inch to 1.1 inch (2cm to 3cm).

    Although it's rare that shrimps will arrive DOA, it does occur due to the process of shipping and the amount of stress it puts on the shrimps so we always recommend overnight shipping. In an event of an DOA, a refund or reshipment will be issued for only the DOA (not including the shipping cost).

    To Claim DOA: 

    1. You must send a picture of the DOA in an unopened bag with 2 hours of delivery to hello@billyboiaquatics.com.
    2. Send an additional picture of the DOA outside of the bag, clear enough to count if more than one.

    Avoid this seller!!!! My shrimps were DOA, and they won't fulfill their guarantee. They won't even respond to my emails or messages. I've filed an official complaint. Save your money!!! Buy elsewhere!!!

    10/10 shrimp survived shipping, 9/10 survived acclimation, but that is due to me having been at work when they arrived and not having been able to do it myself. The red nose shrimp were a bit less vibrant than I had thought, so that was mildly disappointing, which is why I rate it 4/5 stars. Everything else was done agreeably.

    Cool shrimp

    Unique red nose is very interesting, these guys do a great job cleaning up too and seem to eat hair algae that was in the tank I put them in. They are surprisingly good at camouflage and really blend in most of the time. Shrimp shipped all the way across the country to get to me and arrived very healthy and are still doing great a few weeks later. Only issue I have had is finding good information on this species since they are less common and I still don’t know if they are truly freshwater or do best in brackish. I have them in freshwater and they have been doing well so far.
