Scientific Name: Caridina cf. cantonensis
Common Name: Red Galaxy Fishbone, Red GFB
Fully Grown Size: 1.2 inches
Red Galaxy Fishbone are true stunners! They have a bold fishbone like stripe on top of its body and Galaxy spots on its cheeks. Grading can range from low grade which has 1-3 spots on its cheek and a thin fishbone line to high grade which has 6+ good size spots on its cheeks and thick bold fishbone stripe.
Red Galaxy Fishbones were developed by breeding Galaxy Pinto and Fishbone Pinto together. Through selective breeding, the spots will increase and the fishbone stripe will grow thicker.
A general rule of thumb of keeping shrimps is 10 shrimps per gallon. Red Galaxy Fishbone are peaceful and spend most of their time eating algae and biofilm off plants, glass, and substrate. They make excellent clean up crews for aquascape tanks.
Red Galaxy Fishbone are intermediate to care for as they require remineralized RO water. When using fertilizer, make sure it does not contain copper as it is harmful to the shrimp’s health.
The shrimps you will receive will be juvies to sub adults which translate to 0.47 to 0.60 inches (1.2cm to 1.5cm).
