    DESCRIPTION

    Scientific Name: Neocaridina. Davidi
Common Name: Blue Dream Shrimp, Blueberry Shrimp, Deep Blue Shrimp, Blue Sapphire Shrimp, Fantasy Blue Shrimp
Fully Grown Size: 1.6 inches (4cm)

Blue Dream Shrimps have amazing coloration and are beautiful in every way.  The grading is judged by how opaque the blue is. The more opaque it is, the higher the grade is. The highest grade of Blue Dream Shrimps are Blue Sapphire which has full blue coverage throughout its body and legs.

Blue Dream comes from the Neocaridina Davidi Line and has been selectively bred to get its blue color. Although there are multiple colors of neocaridina in the same line, it is not recommended to mix them to keep the genes to be the purist it can be. If you do however mix the colors, you will most likely end up with wild brown colored offsprings.

Blue Dream like all neocaridinas are slightly harder to sex until they mature. Once they mature, the female will have a curved underbelly and the male will have a straight underbelly.

These are popular among the shrimp hobby and are great for people getting into the hobby. A general rule of thumb of keeping shrimps is 10 shrimps per gallon.  Blue Dream are non-aggressive and spend most of their time eating algae and biofilm off plants, glass, and substrate. They make excellent clean up crews for aquascape tanks.

Blue Dream are easy to care for as they require remineralized RO water or tap. If you are using tap, keep in mind to check for any harmful metals or chemicals in the water as all tap water is different and some aren't safe to use. When using fertilizer, make sure it does not contain copper as it is harmful to the shrimp’s health.

The shrimp were crippled and kept flipping on their back. Pretty sure they either ate each other or disintegrated…

    Hi Maria,

I'm sorry to hear your shrimps didn't do well in your tank. During our email discussion, we recommend cycling your tank more as the tank was cycled only for a couple of hours and was tested with only test strips. Adding new plants can also cause harm to shrimps as some plants brought from stores contains pesticide, therefore we also recommend quarantining any plants before adding them to the tank. Shrimps are sensitive and should be cared for carefully.

    I think they are great!

I got all 5 of my shrimp alive but there was a 6th one in there but it was dead so I got what I paid for. Anyways, I think one of the shrimp had babies because there were tiny blue things swimming in the water but hey free shrimp. This is the night of and I put them in there with my guppies and they seem to be doing great together so far. I will update if anything happens. This is my first time handling shrimp but I did good research and hopefully did everything right.

    BEAUTIFUL BLUES

I was very impressed with the color. A couple didn't make it but Billy stood by their product and sent replacement shrimp out.

    BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

DO NOT BUY SHRIMP FROM THIS WEBSITE!!! I had ordered 2 to 3 batches of 20 & each time I got my whole entire shrimp tank infested with what is called HOLTODRILUS TRUNCATES which is a PARASITE that LATCHES onto your shrimp, they are Ectosymbiosis which means they live on the body of the host, including internal surfaces of the shrimp like the gills. It took me months to figure out what was wrong with my tank, & finally I found answers. Billy Boi is NOT professional, they do not take the necessary steps to ensure the are selling HEALTHY shrimp. I lost over half my shrimp tank to this & everything has spiraled out of control since. I am beyond dissatisfied & I am sickened at how careless this company is. Please do yourself a favor & look into other websites!!!!!! It is not worth months & months & months of hassle!!! I may never get my tank under control without losing everything!!!!!!!!!
