    DESCRIPTION

    Scientific Name: Caridina cf. Babaulti
    Common Name: Green Babaulti Shrimp
Fully Grown Size: 1.6 inches (4cm)

Green Babaultis originate from India and certain parts of Asia. These oddballs are rarely offered in the US market making them quite unique. These shrimps can be kept with Caridinas and Neocaridinas without the risk of crossbreeding. These shrimps may look faded in their juvie stage of life but once they are adults, their color and pattern will really stand out.

These are tank-bred and can be easily breed with minimum effort needed.

These are popular among the shrimp hobby and are great for people getting into the hobby. A general rule of thumb of keeping shrimps is 10 shrimps per gallon. Green Babaultis are non-aggressive and spend most of their time eating algae and biofilm off plants, glass, and substrate. They make excellent oddballs for an aquascape tank.

Green Babaultis are easy to care for as they require remineralized RO water or tap. If you are using tap, keep in mind to check for any harmful metals or chemicals in the water as all tap water is different and some aren't safe to use. When using fertilizer, make sure it does not contain copper as it is harmful to the shrimp’s health.

The shrimps you will receive will be juvies to sub adults which translate to 1.2cm to 2.3cm.

    To Claim DOA:

    1. You must send a picture of the DOA in an unopened bag with 2 hours of delivery to hello@billyboiaquatics.com.

    Bright little cuties

These guys are adorable. They do vary in shades and do seem to change color. Much prettier in person. Sometimes even appearing neon green.
All arrived quickly, in good shape, acclimated well and thriving weeks later.

    Beautiful, colorful shrimp

After I saw how well zebra babaultis were doing in my tank I decided I needed to get some greens as well, and I was not disappointed! All of them arrived alive and well, and I'm pretty sure all of them are still alive now, 2 weeks later. Mine arrived as very small juveniles, so I look forward to watching them grow. :)

The most interesting thing about these little shrimps is how variable they are in color. I have a few that are more or less the same green shown in pictures, but I also have a couple that are orange and at least one who is a dark green with a light green stripe down its back. My understanding from the little info available online about them is that they can actually change color as they grow, as a response to stress, or during mating, so for all I know these may not be their permanent colors. Personally I really like the variability in appearance, but these probably aren't the shrimp for you if you're looking for a uniform green coloration.

All in all, both the zebra babaultis and these greens have been super hardy shrimp and I highly recommend them to any beginner or experienced shrimp-keeper who's looking for a really unique species that not many people are keeping!
