    DESCRIPTION

The Panda Garra (Garra flavatra), also known as the Panda Loach, is a small and unique freshwater fish species that's known for its distinct coloration and peaceful behavior. Despite its common name "Garra," it's not a true loach but rather a member of the Garra genus. Here's some information about the Panda Garra:

    1. Appearance: The Panda Garra has a striking appearance with a dark black body and distinct white or cream-colored markings that resemble a panda's face. These markings usually cover the head, dorsal area, and parts of the body.

    2. Size: These fish typically grow to a size of around 2.5 to 3 inches (6 to 8 cm) in length.

    3. Behavior: Panda Garra is known for its peaceful nature and social behavior. They are active swimmers and tend to stay in the mid to lower levels of the aquarium.

    4. Tank Setup: Provide a well-planted aquarium with open swimming areas and hiding spots created by plants, rocks, and driftwood. They appreciate ample hiding places to feel secure.

    5. Water Conditions: Maintain good water quality with a pH range of around 6.0 to 7.5 and a temperature between 72 to 78°F (22 to 26°C). Regular water changes and proper filtration are important.

    6. Diet: Panda Garra is primarily herbivorous. Offer them a diet that includes high-quality sinking algae wafers, pellets, and occasional blanched vegetables like zucchini and cucumber.

    7. Compatibility: Panda Garra is generally peaceful and can be kept with other small, peaceful fish. Avoid keeping them with aggressive or fin-nipping species.

    8. Tank Size: A tank size of around 20 to 30 gallons or more is suitable for a group of Panda Garra.

    9. Tank Mates: Choose tankmates that are similar in size and temperament. Opt for peaceful fish that won't compete for food or show aggression.

    10. Breeding: Breeding Panda Garra in captivity is quite challenging and not commonly achieved.

Panda Garra is appreciated for its unique appearance and peaceful behavior, making it an interesting addition to community aquariums. They can thrive when provided with suitable care and an appropriate environment that meets their needs for hiding, grazing, and swimming.
